Premiere Pro 2.0 now works under Vista with the new Catalysts (7.3) so I decided to not reinstall XP and give this one more try...

I'm trying to encode some Fraps movies to Xvid but the encoder seem to crash when I export. Also, I have no idea which audio compressor to use (AC3 crashes) so I dunno... Is there a way to make web-compatible movies with this OS ????

Try VirtualDub - it encodes to Xvid and also compresses audio too (but probably not to AC3).

If you want AC3, use ffmpeggui then combine the audio to the video.

VirtualDubMod is also an option - I prefer the way it works with audio streams.

Any good suggestions on what to export my Premiere project as ? Should I use some kind of lossless codec and then work that with virtualdub ?
Also, what audio compression should I be using for good size/compatibility (it's for web content).

Fraps "movies" are, from my exerience, captured to uncompressed AVI. Also, from my experience, exporting from Premiere Pro to Xvid can be troublesome.

So a "good" suggestion would be...

Take your AVIs from Fraps straight into VirtualDub.
