  1. Hey guys, i'm new to this forum..plzz help me.
I need to convert a "Godzilla" interlaced DVD to avi. I have done it once but wid problems. I used flaskmpeg.
The problem is that the length of the movie is 2:18:33 and when i convert it(23.976), the length is shown as 2:18:51.
The input fps is 29.976 NTSC interlaced. So, when i extract the audio, the length is again 2:18:33. and when i mux the audio using Virtualdub, there's this audio video sync problem. No matter how much delay i use, it just doesnt work out.
In Flaskmpeg i checked the "reconstruct video frames". And if i use deinterlace, the video quality comes out bad.
So, can u plzz help me out?
I use XVID for the compression. Should i check the "deinterlace video" checkbox inthe XVID settings.
If there are any details that u feel i left out, i'll surely reply

  2. Hi-

If you can upload a small (10 second or less) sample of the source - a place with movement/motion - we can have a look. An IVTC doesn't change the video length. People still use Flask?

Yep.. Flaskmpeg is getting really old now. You should try autogk or fairuse wizard.

  6. If the video is truly interlaced and not telecined, the framerate should remain at 29 and not change.

No, I said the source. Open a VOB in DGIndex. Scroll to a place with movement. Use the [ and ] buttons to isolate a small section. Go File->Save Project and Demux Video. Check out the resulting M2V to make sure it's small (8-10 seconds is enough). Upload.

If it's an Indian DVD, they're generally so messed up that it could be about anything; hard telecined, converted from PAL and field-blended, or even truly interlaced (although I doubt it, since it's a movie).

  8. Its not an Indian DVD. And tried to upload an 8 second source, but as it was 9mb so it could not be uploaded.
And i tried using the AutoGK software, ..and it worked out perfectly.
This forum really helped me man..
    Thanks
