I taped from tv to dvd using +R dvd. I have done this before and don't recall having a problem. i now try to play on powerdvd (for caps) or using Ulead 10 to make mpeg but it says disc with unsupported format. I can always do it using other dvd recorder but this one is a Conia dvd recorder and now i get "unsuported format".

What does this mean? is there any way around it? Is this disc now useless to cap or make mpegs from?

Thank you in advance for any advice or help.

  2. Have you finalised the disc? The DVD recorder should give you the option to finalise. It won't play otherwise.

When you open up windows explorer, are you able to view the disc's files? If not, then it definitely won't have been finalised. Also, some players only create the video_TS folder. If it doesn't create the audio_TS folder as well, then it won't play on some players.

I just made an mpeg which i've done before plenty of times but the sound is so low i can hardly here it. Practically non existent.

Do you know what i can do to fix this?

It plays back (disc) normally on dvd player. Normal sound.

It is low playing back on windows media player and pretty low in powerdvd.

Its lost some sound going onto the computer (sorry not teckie) but others i've done previously at other tiomes sound great.

    Any ideas. Ways to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

    http://ac3filter.net/

    Download and install .

    Then

    http://ac3filter.net/doc/ac3filter/ac3filter_eng.html

Come down to "6.2. Main settings" , 1/3rd of the way down from top .

Then you might want to run the tool from the installed shortcut , and head to "system" , "use ac3filter for" , make sure they are all checked , and click apply , then ok .

Hi, thanks for that. The instructions were great. The video is till low. i tried a cd to compare sound and the mpeg sound is still much lower. You have to crank it up to hear reasonably.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks, carolyn

Hi, just wanted to say that i am not teckie minded and so i could read all those instructions but not really understand what they mean and what options i should choose since i wouldn't know what is right and wrong for the situation.
I didn't want to come off thinking someone else should just give me all the answers i just don't understand.
    Thank you for your help.
    Cheers, Carolyn

  10. Start -> All Programs -> AC3Filter -> AC3Filter Config

On the Main tab set Master Gain to +20 dB. Also be sure that Output (top left) is set to the proper configuration for your speakers.
