Hello, my question in not specifically related to video-dvd, but i am sure you can help me anyway..

I have been reading similar topics and questions in this and other forums, and tried several solutions, without success.

I have been on holidays lately in a friends house, and i used his laptop as a repository for my pictures during the trip, recording them in several sessions into a DVD using Roxio EasyCD creator. I never finalized the DVD -honestly, i never had to burn anything that way, and i didn't give importance to that-. After each burning, i deleted some of the pictures of his computer, because of being personal stuff or wonderings that i thought he didn't have to have.

But I came home -he lives quite far away, several hours by plane-, and when i wanted to retrieve the pictures, i found that i can only see the folder recorded during the first session. I could saw everything on his computer, so i wondered if had something to do with the finalization, and i tried some things...

I used both DVD Decrypter and ISO Buster, and both identify up to 11 sessions in the DVD, with its (i guess) correct size, but they both give an urrecoverable read error when i try to read/copy anything out of that first session. They can not either finalize the disc.

In the help file of CDRoller, it says that this is a typical thing due to a bug of the EasyCD creator, but i can not fix using his suggestions...

Of course i guess i can always tell my friend to reburn the pictures that he still has for me, but that way i will lost some forever, which is not specially nice...

Something that will probably work also is to send him the DVD, ask him to finalize it, and send it back again, but i would prefer any other easier solution, that i can do by myself.

Thanks for the help! Any answer will be strongly well recieved!!

Albert
