  1. okay,dvd player=panasonic rv65

    cd-r=700mb memorex black cdr

    program=nero.

    i burned a vcd with roughly 78 minutes consisting of 22 tracks.after fixing all the bitrates and making sure they were all nstc format,i made the vcd,upon bringing it to my player,which supports vcd (not sure what formats besides basic) it told me no disc,so im assuming something is wrong. anyone offer any helpful hints or tips so i dont make more coasters?

    if you check the dvd players list to the left it shows that the panasonic rv-65 only plays cdrw media.

    your welcome, yeah you have odd things with the players sometimes. It depends many times on how they have the laser reading things.

  5. If it lists that it only plays CD-RW it means that the DVD player was not designed to read either CD-R or CD-RW.

    DVD drives use a different wavelength laser to read DVDs (compared to CD drives) and at this wavelength, CD-R media are difficult to read. By virtue of the optical properties of CD-RW, they tend to be more compatible in such DVD players so the info in the compatibility list is not really strange at all...
