hi peeps,
Ripped a few dvd and encoded lower to fit back on 4.4gb Dvdr and not had problem yet until this one. I`m using Smartripper and movie mode to strip m2v and 6channel AC3, then using rempeg2 with various settings (except FULL search mode as i dont have 45 hours to spare :) and the video has "glitches". Its hard to explain but if you look carefully u notice the pic glitch every 1/2 second or so, and u only notice it after the beginning text, with spacecraft scene and 2 jedi`s fighting onwards... ive played the ripped m2v and its fine so its only the encoding process. Anyone have idea?
cheers]

I'm not sure about this, as I don't use ReMPEG. I used ReMPEG to encode Shrek and it erased about a third of the movie, right out of the VOBs!
I was playing with Phantom Menace myself, using smartripper to rip the audio track and video seperately, by chapters (don't ask) but I found that the ripped .m2v file played back noticeably faster than it should have. The audio was fine. Could this have been because of a lack of reference when making the file? -
The m2v does playback faster, i dont know why but once its all back together its ok.
I ripped shrek and there were a few different angles and i ripped one and it was under 4gig so that was nice.....hehe.
just authoured straight to dvd..
I think it might be something in Episode 1 because when i ripped the vobs to hd using dvddecrypter with multi angle processing it ripped the first vob to 785meg (out of 1gig on dvd), i think it ripped the languages out of it that one, where it has scrolling text at beginning, and once it got to the next scene where it starts looking strange (after encoding) it stopped for a second and started. It doesnt do this for any other dvd i`ve done so i think there maybe some other protection maybe (>? guessing)
I`ll leave it for now, wasted enough time on it. -
WEll i figured it out, its rempeg2 its just a piece of shit..
Ripped with dvddecypter with stream processing, only kept m2v/6channel ac3 but left as vobs, so i used dvd2avi to create d2v and ac3 then i cud use tmpegenc and it encoded fine...
