In 1996 I took my 2 year old to Florida for the 25th Anniversary Disney celebrations. I had a brand new Fergusson VHS-C camcorder (price then just under £1000). I used 4 tapes, each on LP giving me 6 hours of recording - before the camera just shut down on me.
2 of the tapes are OK, so I have 3 hours of recording, but the last 2 tapes have a problem that I have been told may be down to condensation on the heads. The sound is fine but the picture just looks like the tracking is out - Adjusting the tracking has no effect. There are occasional scenes when it is suddenly OK again for a few seconds before going back to being unwatchable.
In 1996 I was told to keep the tapes and wait until technology caught up to see if anything can be done. I am desperate to see this lost footage, so if anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful. I have tried a couple of white noise filters on the computer but no joy.
Any ideas please ????

If you want to send your tapes to the USA, I know of a service here that works with physically damaged media.
