    I'm able to do this with a TV monitor but would like to do it to my laptop monitor. My laptop has s video but it does not say anything about it in the users manual. TIA>

    You would need to import video over a IEEE-1394 port or with a video capture device (USB2 or PCMCIA).

    I guess that means I can't get it to act the way the tv monitor does with handling input directly to the screen?

    Not if your laptop is like 99% of the others.
