I thought I had this burning thing until some of the movies are freezing every few seconds on playback in a stand alone player. It only freezes for a second then continues on but it keeps doing it the WHOLE movie.

This only happens to some of the movies I burn not all. I keep all the setting sthe same, so what am I doing wrong. I play the movie on my computer before burning to make sure all is good.

If anyone has any suggestions or helpful information I would really appreciate it. I am waisting dvd's because I can't see the freezes until after the burn. Please help

I am actually having the same problem as you. I have a dvd that has 2 and a half hours of sports footage I have recorded this past year. I tried to make a back-up using nero backup and when I play back the copied version in my dvd player it freezes every other second. It does this throughout the whole dvd. Again, this is not a copyrighted dvd but instead a dvd with sports clips I recorded from TV.

The first reaction is either cheap media, or bad burns.

You can test your burns using Nero CD/DVD Speed.

What media are you using ?

That's it the memorex media is #1 crappy media in the dvd burning world for sure,
Get some verbatims or fuji or taiyo yuden and then you will see a difference.
