adaptec gamebridgetv cant install!!!!!!!!????

ok i recently bought a adaptec gamebridge tv 1410 so i could play videogames on my pc/ and record tv shows. i installd the drivers fine but when it gos to install the InterVideo software i get a error reading "no adaptec device could be detected, setup will terminate now..." does anyone know how to fix this? i tryed everything i can think of but nothing helpd? i even moved it around to diffrent usb ports, unpluged all other usb devices i had plugdin, uninstalld/restarted/reinstalld, nothing worked!!! but the weird thing is i tryed installing it on my sisters pc and it installd perfectly! no problems at all! i would use her pc but the dosnt have enough RAM and all that to run.record good. im rnning Win XP Pro SP2 on my pc and i think my sister has te same on hers but im not sure. does anyone know how to fix that error? if not then does an one know of a program that i can use to record? iv tryd vlc,beyond tv,windows media player classic,and abunch more and i cant get them to record! vlc and wmpc froze my pc!, i cant get recordings to start on beyond tv!?, and DScaler would only record video no audio and it would only record for acouple seconds!? anyhelp would be apreciated!! and thanks in advance!

I had the most trouble installing the device, as InterVideo setup would not recognize that the device was installed. The interesting thing though, is that InterVideo diagnostics, accessed directly, state that the device is installed and functioning perfectly.

In the end, I used a program called ShowShifter which not only detected the device but worked perfectly as far as video is concerned. The only problem now is that I can't find any way to access the sound feed from the GameBridge. Device Manager states that the sound feed is present and working, but no program I can find can actually coax sound out of the Adaptec Audio Capture device listing.

Anyone have some more general knowledge of audio capture devices/drivers, etc.? Many thanks in advance!
