    Hi

I have a Toshiba RD-XS34 HDD DVD recorder which mostly works great. However, in first i didn't understand that when burning HDD recorded contetnt to DVD using "high speed dubbing" (HSD) didnt create av DVD video compatible DVD, i.e. one to play in any DVD player around. Having a DVD+-RW DL inserted in my computer i am able to load the DVD and se that it contains a file with ending .cba most like any audio CD does for each title. However, I cant play the video in any player known to me on PC.

Now. I can play it using my Toshiba dvd recorder, but it would be nice to be able to play it using a PC player or better, rip it to PC. I could offcourse copy it to my toshiba recorder again and the burn it using its DVD creator utility. But using a PC would be faster.

Any one knowing which format is used by toshiba??? (I cant check now, but I guess the DVD mode setting was set to OFF or something, and still is, and that this has something to do with the format used when doing HSD (which I think I learned to day when searching forum for an answer))

    Thanks in advance

  2. First of all, make sure the DVD Compatible Mode is set to "Main". This is in the DVD Recorder Operation section of the setup menu.

When you want to transfer something from the HDD to a DVD-R or DVD-RW that can be played on another machine, go into the HDD Edit Menu (top right button under the remote control lower door). Select "DVD-Video Creation" and proceed.
