Will I see any difference if I upgrade my Liteon 5005 to a Toshiba xs34/ or xs35? Currently its used for simple VHS transfers from a JVC S9900U? I have read on this forum that these units do a good job. Also, I am wondering if an ADVC-300 to help with the PQ as well?
    Thanks,

  2. I doubt if you would see any difference but others may
You will not find a unit better than the 5005 or another older Liteton for VHS trsfers
    and other virtues

If you do decide to upgrade I would be intrested in the 5005

The Toshibas might have better TBC performance, but that shouldn't matter if you're using the TBC/DNR in the 9900. In terms of PQ, I suspect that the major limiting factor is simply the VHS playback quality.

Is there something specific about your captures that you are wanting to improve?
Life is better when you focus on the signals instead of the noise.

Well no. I just want to make sure I have the best results possible without going overboard on editing or hardware/software.

I guess Ill stick with what I have!
