New to this forum, so bare with me.
From a MOV (H264, acc 5.1 48k), i got a AIF file. How do i get that converted into a AC3 file, keeping the 5.1 as it was?
The AIF is an export from Quicktime Pro. Which slides the center sounds ~25% towards the left speaker. But it's the best result yet![]()
I tried several other ways. Ffmpeg, ripping the aac directly from the mov into ac3.
Super@ same deal. And so on.
The result is always spikes in the audio, center channel most. The spikes generate hizz, when i use the resulting file in any DVD author software. Not when i just play the ac3 file!
Using AC3Tools Pro, i have tried extracting each channel in single files. Again it's the center channel that get's all female and hizz, when the audio get loud.
From the single center channel, i tried removing the hizz. But no matter how god or bad it may be, i can here the difference.
Anybody got any "magic" solution?
P.S. And i dont have access to any kind of Mac!

Use mkvtoolnix with mkvextractgui.
Extract aac 5.1.
Download ffdshow if you don't already have it.
Download graphedit.
Enable aac decoder in ffdshow audio decoder settings.
Drag audio into graphedit window.
delete default directsound device.
press ctrl+F to open filters. find directshow filter, expand, find and select 'file writer'.
Select target path/name.
Connect ffdshow audio decoder to file writer.
right click on ffdshow decoder. select filter properties.
go down to output settings.
select ac3 and bitrate, also tick dont use waveformat...
press play and wait for file. -
Finnally found an easier way.
Paied for ConvertXtoDVD, which takes the hole MOV file and converts to VOB.
The sound track is just right. No hizz.
But the video in the VOB is not the best, so i use Super@ to get the audio track out in a AC3 file.
