  1. Ok I have these videos and they are in HD widescreen format, they are about 3gigs per hour of video. I want to put just one video on each dvd to preserve the quality of the video and I do not need a menu ot anything fancy but I want to keep it in widescreen high def.

Everything I seem to have tried always converts it and smushes it one way or another.

The file details are 1080p Xvid AC3 and it is 1440x1080 (1.33:1) [=4:3] 6374k bit rate with 384k stereo AC3.

Any help on converting this to DVD would be great. If you need any additional information, let me know and if you can tell me where I find it so I can help you help me.

    Thanks

You can't keep the hd resolution if you want standard dvd-video...so just convert with any converter like convertxtodvd, dvd flick, tmpgenc dvd author and convert to dvd.

If you want to keep the hd resolution get a htpc or a dvd player hd xvid/divx support.

  3. Thanks Baldrick you just answered this so easily for me. I actually have a really nice phillips DVR that plays all sorts of divx, avi's etc, I bet I can just burn this file straight to DVD and play it in HD format without converting or changing anything.

just burn/copy as a data file, NOT as a DVD conversion burn

depending on your burn software, choose 'DVD data disc'

Your philips dvr does not support 1080p xvid.
