Hi, i've "prison break" episodes and want to make a dvd with menu. Episodes are 350 MB and 624x352 resolution. So i use dvdlabpro for authoring dvd but it uses 720x572 resolution and how can i change the resolution and how to convert xvid (avi) to mpeg-2.
So mpeg-2's files will be larger than avi???

AVI is a container file. The size depends on the codec used. Uncompressed like HuffyUV will be VERY large. Compressed like DivX or XviD will be smaller. It's up to the original person making the encode what goes into the file. MPEG is a set standard. Resolutions and such are set. You can altar the bitrate to fit into a certain package, but the video standard is the same. That's why you see AVI files with strange resolutions.
With that said, ConvertXToDVD or it's predecessor ConvertXToDVD work extremely well for your task. -
I agree. Convertxtodvd. I used it to do a 15 chapter series of an old movie series. Worked great & looks & sounds great. Will miracles never cease?

You will get 3 episodes at reasonable quality with ConvertXtoDVD. After that it will start to drop off. Obviously some people have a very low threshold for what constitutes poor quality, while other will put hours and hours on a disc and find it acceptable. You have to find where you draw the line.
