There was some talk of this recorder about a year or so ago. I've had one for almost 3 years now, but have ONE problem that i can't stand. The audio!
It records with AC3 audio. I usually use a DVD-RW, and then when the video is done recording, i finalize it and throw it into my comp's DVD burner for editing. I use Ulead's DVD Movie Factory 3 to edit it and then put the finished product on DVD-R. I have to use a few other software titles to convert the AC3 recorded audio to .mp3 audio, since MF3 will not convert AC3 format discs. I have to convert it to .mp3 first, and THEN import it into the video.
Is there any way to change the audio format on the recorder from AC3 to Mpeg, so i can alleviate the above steps?

The DVR-225 (220) records in 256kbps ac3 dolby digital 2.0 audio only, except when recording in MN32 or FINE quality mode.
You might look in to different authoring software.
