I usually create my own menus in TDA, when backing-up a series dvd. This time I would like to keep the original menu, but what I don't want is the FBI warning, trailers, etc, that are on the dvd before the menu appears and I don't want any of the Extras (Just the Episodes themselves on the dvd). I have tried to use vobblanker to do this by following a guide from the site, but it didn't work, everything still appeared.
So here is what I would like the final dvd to look like.
1. Original Menu (nothing from dvd that is before the main menu)
2. Main Movies (Most likely (4) episodes per dvd)
3. No extras (just wasted space since I never watch them)
When the dvd is put into dvd player I would like it to go directly to Main Menu (skipping warnings, trailers, etc) and be able to choose which of the 4 episodes I want to watch (like it normally would if I hadn't touched it). Is this possible. If so could you explain it in steps like I'm a 4 year old, because I swear I followed the previous guide to a T, and it didn't work. Thanks

What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity....

Hi-
VobBlanker does this stuff with one hand tied behind its back, so-to-speak. I don't know what guide you used, or where you went wrong, but maybe this will help with the blanking out of warnings, logos, previews, and the extras you don't want:
http://dvdguides.netgeekhosting.com/guides/blanking/
Although blanking everything before getting to the menu will have the menu play first, depending on how much played before the menu before being blanked, you can wait several seconds before the menu shows up. I usually make sure that it jumps directly to the menu. This guide explains how:
http://download.videohelp.com/r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/How_to_use_PgcEdit_new_macro.htm
The guide is still accurate, but the final step, Macros->Jump to PGC Upon DVD Insert is now PGC->Jump to PGC Upon DVD Insert. -
Ok using dvdshrink to take out warnings, trailers, extras, and then vob blanker to blank them out I got a working dvd that goes directly to the original dvd menu.
Another queston, does blanking these extras out, actually remove them from the new dvd Thus giving more space for the actual movies, or does it just skip them, but still have them using the same amount of dvd space as original dvd? What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity.... -

If you "Blank" them followed by Processing the DVD, then they're gone, to be replaced by a very short-playing 10 KB black screen. Space is freed up for the stuff you want to keep.
Seems like kind of a waste of time to me though, to use 2 programs where VobBlanker can do the entire job itself. -
I know. I"m going to try just vobblanker next time.....The only reason I use dvdshrink really is to take out audio and subtitles I don't want, because I have no idea how to do that with VobB.
What I do notice is that after blanking the trailers, warnings, etc...it plays several seconds of black screen then goes to next chaper and does the same until it hits the main menu. Is it supposed to do that?
Another thing. Is it some how possible to edit each movie (4 episodes) and remove the end credits to free up more room and still have the same menu as original? What We Do In Life, Echoes In Eternity.... -

PGCedit to "blank" anything I want, and do the "jump to pgc upon dvd insert" so that it doesn't have that lag you're talking about. Manono talks about this above. Then I post-process with vobblanker to actually remove what I blanked in pgcedit (this is automatic - you don't have to blank again in vobblanker), plus strip any streams I want.
You can edit each movie if the end credits is in its own cell. Vobblanker should be able to handle this.
