Which App for DVD + Slideshow?

I typically author dvds using DVD-Lab pro, but a friend came back from vacation with a cd containing videos and pictures. She doesnt own a PC so cant view the images and wants me to put it all on a DVD for her.

Now I know how to author a DVD with a menu etc, but I'm unsure how to incorporate the pictures. I have read of slideshow dvd's and was wondering if DVD-Lab can do this, I looked at their site and see no mention of having a gallery/slideshow on the dvd.

What kind of program would allow me to have a gallery/slideshow and movies behind a navigation menu?

DVD-Lab pro has a slideshow function, not a clue how good it is because I've yet to use it.

Although it has been stated that some players have a problem with the background audio added to slideshow's in DLP, both older & newer version's, & i have had some problems with both verion's of DLP in this respect.

I have recently started using ProShow Producer (gold is great also & a lot cheaper) and it is a great program, has a lot of effect's & i just add the rendered slideshow to my DLP project for authoring.

Kind of funny... i just learned of ProShow yet i have been using their CompuPic Pro for years!!!!

So the slideshow app im assuming would just output a movie i.e. slideshow?

Then I just add this a movie in DLP?

Not an interactive gallery where the user can pic any picture from a series of thumbnails?

3: not that i know of.... i'm pretty new to it also but man does it let you do a lot!!

Ton's of transition effects, text effect's, ect. ect. ect.
add audio, sync the audio to the slidewhow, sync specific photo's tocertain part's of the audio, i'd be typing all day just stating the stuff i know about so far

And it let's you save in many diff. formats,





& let's you set everything the way you want.

I'm not sure about a program that let's you show a Thumbnail page & let's you choose which photo, but i would imagine there is one somewhere ? I've never wanted to do something like that before.
I've actually used it to make scrolling credit's, star wars style scrolling textm it has a ton of text effect's also.
