Let me say first off that I buy a lot of Dvds. Secondly, I have never bought a Dvd without english subtitles. I've rented an awful lot of them, but never bought one. Many Dvds have English CC but no English subtitles. That's not good enough for me. I have 6 diff brands of Dvd players and some handle CCs thru a sound system okay but most seem to have a problem with this. CC is a VHS thing. Back in that day, CC was all that was available. With Dvds , the text of choice is subtitles not CC. I have not not run up against any Dvd that was so packed it didn't have room for an english subtitle. So, I'm pissed about the whole thing. My biggest reason for me being pissed, is that in no time at all, with free programs, I, myself, can convert CCs or no english text at all to subtitles.
For those mnfg of Dvds that have their outer packages written in english and do not include english subtitles, they are Dumb f**ks, worthless f** ks or just plain cheap f**ks.

Lastly, I would like to say that , on occasion, I have been surprised that an English spoken movie without english subtitles was worth the time to watch it, but generally for me, the subtitle thing is my best indication regarding the quality of the movie. Simply put, If they don't have the money or the time to get that part of it right, chances are, they didn't get a lot of other tings it right either.

Rant over, thanks for the time
