I need to know which transcode settings would be better.
First, I use Adobe Encore DVD 1.5.
Second, one of the settings already made available by Encore DVD is "NTSC DV High quality 7Mb VBR 2 Pass." I go to File > Transcode > Edit Project Transcode Presets. I use NTSC DV High quality 7Mb VBR 2 Pass but edit it to 1 Pass (to save time when transcoding). This is now a custom setting. It is exactly like the NTSC DV High quality 7Mb VBR 2 Pass provided by Encore DVD but it now has 1 Pass. Let's call this "custom".
Another transcode settings available is "Automatic".
I have a 1hr. 20 min. .avi video that I imported as a timeline.
When the transcode setting is "custom", the free space in the DVD under the Disc tab is about 53MB.
When the transcode settings is "Automatic", the DVD free space is 4MB.
In terms of quality, which would be the better transcode setting? I am assuming the "Automatic" setting but I am not sure.
