  2. Hello

You are trying to open a DivX file that means that the audio is MP3 and not wav that is supported by lsx mpeg encoder..... first u have to change the file to wav and not mp3.... you can do this with avi2mpg (avi2vcd) and select the Decoder exe something.... Good Luck

  3. Just to save you the hassle of going to Ligo I had the same problem. My problem had to do with AVI type 1 versus Type 2 files. Here is the response I got from Ligo:

We use Microsoft Video for Windows in the standalone encoder to decode the AVI file during the encoding process and VfW only supports Type 2 DV-AVI files.

The DV-AVI format comes in 2 types, type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is a DirectShow ONLY based format which is not VfW compatible. Type 2 is a DirectShow and VfW compatible format so if a Type 2 DV codec is installed on the system our encoder can usually open and encode these types of files. Most digital camcorder capturing software will allow the user to select either type 1 or type 2. If not there are a couple of 3rd party DV codecs that are available. We usually recommend the MainConcept DV codec (www.mainconcept.com). Adaptec also has a DV codec called DVDeck that is designed for their hardware but can be installed without it.

Most video editing applications support the standard Microsoft AVI format which we recommend to be uncompressed or RAW for the best quality encoding.

    Thanks,

    Ligos Corporation

My DV editor VideoWave converts my captures to the wrong type (type 1) and I can't use the Ligo encoder so I gave up after trying several things. It just wasn't worth the effort for an average encoder.
TMPEGEnc work fine, however, on these files. Good luck
