    Please does anyone know if I can watch videotapes by playing them via VCR player connected not to a telly, but to a computer. also how would I do this please

    If your computer has a video input, yes you can. If you don't have a video input, either on the video card, a separate capture card, a TV card or an external capture device, no you can't.

    Thank you for this. Ive looked at the rear of the PC and the cards.
    There is no capture card or tv card.
    Is the video card the one the monitor cable is plugged into . If so theres no video input socket on it.

    Thanks again for this advice. The pinnacle dazzle dvd recorder seems just the job. the only problem as far as I can see is that the minimum spec PC is a USB 2 port.
    My PC (amd athlon 2000 chip running at 1.67 gigabyte ) as far as I know has only USB 1.
    Please do you know if this would do, or , if not , what other solution to this problem might exist

    I liked the PCI card for freeview capture. I already have a usb dvb-t dongle which does same function . Please do you know if PCI card is better than the typical usb freeview dongle.
