  1. Take in a bunch of non-whitebook files . . . both AVI and MPG's and convert them as they are imported into the VCD menu/playlist, and then actually burn the whole thing without crashing??

Nero says that v5.5 will do this, but whenever I try it with several various clips (none of them conforming) I see the software saying that it is converting them, and then they show up in the playlist. But when I burn - I crash. Hey - "Crash and Burn" . . . I made a funny !!

I did it with a 3-minute DivX AVI I made of some porn. It worked, but it was blocky beyond belief.

It seems to me for Nero to re-encode video files at the point of the user wanting to burn them is counter-intuitive. If you're dragging files into a project window in CD burner software, you're looking to burn the damn things right then, not wait 24 hours for it to re-encode your entire project, only to have it turn out to be unwatchable.

    Counter-intuitive, I say!
