XV-DV313 Black and white!

I used the above coupled with Samsung tellie, no problems. Lashed out and bought a Panasonic Plasma (TH-50PX600A). Faithfully transferred plugs etc. Now the DVD is only black and white and not of a good quality! What gives, any ideas? Bear in mind I can lift heavy weights but electronics isn't my favourite subject.

Try checking the settings for your DVD player to make sure it's outputting the signal correctly. It should say something like:

Output->Svideo (The svideo connection)
or
Output->YPbPr (The component video connection)

I don't know where the setting is on yours, so you'll have to dig for it.
I have seen the problem you describe on a few DVD players and this was usually the reason.
