My new Plextor DVD burner will only play burned DVD’s, not original ones. Here is the background on my problem. I had a Dell PC that blew out the Motherboard, I replaced it with a Biostar MB and an Athlon 64 3400. I tried the old Dell DVD player and it would not work, so I thought that was blown as well. I bought the Plextor burner and installed it. I also installed WinDVD as the player. When I put in a burned DVD it would play with the WinDVD player. When I put in an original DVD it just gives me this blue screen and looks for memory. I know this is long, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    OK, did you try:

Another software player, like PowerDVD, or even Windows Media Player?
Is the latest firmware for your drive installed?
Is the region of the disc you are trying to play a match for the region the drive is set to?
Have you tried another known good DVD drive with the disc you're having problems with? Also, is the problem occurring with just this one commercial disc, or all of them?

Don't know why you're having this problem, just throwing out some ideas.
