I was using v2 for the longest time until a few days ago when I double clicked it to open and I got the Microsoft Error Reporting window pop up. It said that it has encountered a problem and needs to close...then giving you the usual option of sending an error report. So for the hell of it, I went to the site and they have a version 3 out now. So, I downloaded a trial version to see what it was like and if I wanted to purchase it. After uninstalling version 2, I installed V3. Did a reboot, double clicked the new V3 icon and the same error message came up!
I emailed tech support and they responded by first of all saying that they are aware of this problem with V3 as it seems to be happening quite often. They suggested I uninstall any codec packs or applications such as another encoding software like MPEG Encoder 3. I would say that my knowledge and experience with computers is slightly above average, but this is right over my head. I downloaded an app called Sherlock which scans your PC and tells you what video and audio codecs you have installed. This is the list it gave me:
