I'm thinking about blowing a little of my tax return on a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo for the HTPC.
I have the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop Pro, but it's range is shite. I bought it a few years ago when it first came out and the box promised 6 to 8 feet range -- I've never gotten more than 3 to 4..... (it should do just fine in my office though!)
Bluetooth products from Logitech and Microsoft promise 30 feet! I can't find any other manufacturers.
Can anybody here vouch for the 30 foot range? I really wouldn't need more than about 10 feet at the most.
I like the look and feel of the Microsoft keyboard/mouse combos (local CompUSA has all 3 on display), as they're all 'ergo' and seem pretty solid.
More importantly though, will I be able to access my BIOS &/or use F8 to get into Safe Mode using a Bluetooth keyboard?
Let me know what your experiences have been.
TIA!
