Has anyone ever experienced this? I have the recorder since last May ('06) have been recording a ton of shows & up until recently all has been great! But, now when the system is off the set top box seems to change my system clock screwing up all my timed recordings. I've unplugged, reset everything, called Sony tech & am almost about to send it to TX for repair - still under warranty. BUT, I was just wondering is this a repair problem or is there something I can change??? I thought I got the problem taken care of a week or so ago, but then yesterday it happened again.
ANY ideas???? PLEASE HELP!
Thanks!!!

So, does anyone have any ideas?? Do you think its the recorder? Or do you think it's the set top box? Should I go ahead & send it in to Sony?
Any ideas would be great!
Thanks! -
Check your recorder's setup menu to see if it is setup to auto clock set.
Many consumer devices use a signal included in PBS broadcasts to set the clock.
Its not uncommon to see a different time on an autoset recorder than the time on the cable systems set top box. -
Thanks for the suggestion!!!
I checked and unfortunately, you manually set the clock, so that is why this is so strange!!! I looked through the book & through the system menus & didn't see anywhere an auto set for the clock.
Anything else???? I really don't want to have to send this is, but if it is the recorder we're still under warranty, so that's good.
Any other ideas???
Thanks!! -
While you manually can set the clock on the 715, it does correct itself automatically--mine updated to the new daylight savings time automatically.
So try turning off the TV Guide by setting your location zip code to 00000 and then see if your clock still changes.
Also, have you changed your rf connections recently? The 715 needs a full spectrum (not a channel three output) to be able to get the tv guide service. I have my connected with just the raw TW Cable service and then use the various inputs as sources and manually set timer record.

Thanks for the suggestion!!
I think it was just possessed for a little while! B/C, every since DST has past the time has been correct!! Go figure!! Now, just wait I'll have the same problem pop up again. Hopefully, not, but we'll see.
No, I haven't changed any connections - I hadn't done anything!!
Like I said, I think the thing just got possessed.
Another strange thing is when I turn the DVR off & just watch TV, it automatically goes to PBS. So, that previous comment about PBS - maybe they had their system clock off too which messed up mine.
Who knows, but hopefully this won't happen again!!
Thanks!
