    Hi,

    I'm having a problem with my NEC 4571A drive. It doesn't read the dvd-rs I have burned. I'm using Verbatim media so I don't think that's the problem and it does read my dvd-rws. Sometimes when I restart my pc it does recognize the disc and strangely my windows recognizes the drive as a dvd ram drive. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I gave up on NEC writers after the model 3550.any burner made after 3550(3570 not sure) is not made by NEC

    Here's an interesting update. If I load up DVDInfoPro and get it to recognize the disc and then run a PIPO scan after closing the program windows suddenly recognizes the disc!
