    Hi everybody,

    is there any tool to check which kind of copy protection an original DVD has? Ripping tools delete protection(s), but don't show if a DVD has anyone of it.

    DVDIdlePro shows both real drive region setting and the info about the inserted DVD (the program disables any protection at this).

    You can safely assume that burned DVDs do not contain copy protections, and that studio releases do. The only gray area is some public domain releases which don't even carry CSS.
