Hi!
I record shows on a dvd recorder. I want to put them on AVI format (Xvid or DivX) but of course, ripping out the comercials. Here's the problem. I have VOB's and all the good software to convert doesn's have the option to remove the unwanted parts.
I'm using Fairuse Wizard now, cause it's the only one that has the option to rip the wanted parts but I think I'm not getting the best output quality.
So the question is:
Is there any software that can give me good results (put filters for example) and choose the parts I want to rip?
If no, how can I make this in another way? Mayber cutting the part of the video I want on another software...
Any help would be great.
Thanks
zephirus

If it was me, I'd use a good MPEG editor first to cut out what I wanted to encode, save that, and then encode. I can recommend both MPEGVCR and VideoReDo as excellent and easy to use commercial editors. I'm not real keen on free editors as both of those do everything I want, but I think there are one or two free alternatives and perhaps one of those might even be good for you.

Thanks. Im going to try that.
By the way, after I have the cuted video, I have lot of software to choose from, to encode it to avi. I have problems with soccer games, the image gets very bad. Is there any specific software that you can recomend? Or anything I must have in mind when encoding?
Again, thank you for your help.
