Do DVDplayers play DVD+R movies better?

oh btw.. i need the output to be danish region PAL, dont know if that matters?

Discs are format agnostic. Blanks aren't PAL or NTSC.

Compatibility between +R and -R is pretty much equal in modern players, with -R having the edge in older players. With modern players the major issues is no longer + or -, but simply crap or not.

There are two good resources for checking the quality of different media. www.nomorecoasters.com can give you a pretty good rundown on what's good and what isn't. The other place to look is the DVD Media database here at videohelp. The link is to your left. Find the media code of your discs, do a search and see what others are saying. Just doing a search on Imation shows it has a pretty mixed reaction, with some being OK, and some being rubbish.

Finally, burn with a good burning program. Imgburn 2.2 is probably the single best DVD Video burning program available. I would not use Nero to burn DVD Video, and certainly would never use NeroVision to author anything.

You have crap ass DVD discs.

It basically boils down to the following:

    1.) Taiyo Yuden (8x best ... 16x second)
    2.) Verbatim 16x (avoid the 8x)

That's about it. Personally I prefer the -R type but +R should be OK as long as you bitset to -ROM format.

Plays not on 0 DVD Players
    Burn Reliability is Good

    PC Reliability is Good

why is does it have this rating if its crap?

It's crap because it is not Taiyo Yuden nor Verbatim. End of story.

If the combined bitrate (audio + video + everything else like subtitles etc.) is "too high" then that can cause playback issues.

Do you know what bitrate you used for the video and audio etc.?

look.. i have two videos, 720x576, only a couple of minutes long.. no subtitles.. no fancy sound..

I have several ways of creating MPEG2/DVD file.. with QuEnc, BBMPEH, Vegas, Premiere.. so i can create it as i want i guess.. but the problem i dont know what i want.. or whats really suitable..

I'm a noob in DVDauthoring.. but i'm surprised that it should be THAT difficult to burn a couple of DVD's that can play some MPEG2 files.. (on a PS2)

I have a couple of verbatim 8x left..

TELL ME WHAT TO DO .. ive been up all night..cause i need this job done!

If using PCM WAV audio make sure the video bitrate is no more than say 7700kbps to be "safe". If you are using MP2 or better yet AC-3 audio then you can set the video bitrate to as high as say 9000kbps. That should solve the bitrate being "too high" if that even is a problem here.

As for burning ... create an ISO IMAGE FILE with ImgBurn then burn it to the Verbatim 8x DVD using ImgBurn but burn at 4x speed instead of MAX or 8x speed. If the DVD is a DVD+R then bitset to -ROM ... if DVD-R then don't worry about that step.

The problem is most likely the Imation media. Another problem might be the PS2 ... the PS2 is considered one of the worst DVD players around. It is notorious at having issues with playing back even commercially made DVD Videos little alone burned DVD Videos (which seem to give it even more problems).

    I'm going to bed ...
