    Been on this for 3-4 weeks on and off. First couldn't play mpegs in WMP or Real Video. Then avi's in either. Neither one will now play anything. DIVX player plays some videos, not others. WMP older version plays nothing. Can play some mpg mpegs in Itunes. Tried a reinstalls for WMP and Real Video and still nothing. QuickTime still plays mov files pretty well. What can I try, or direction to go from here?

    Until you get it fixed, try VLC. It uses it's own decoder, so should be immune from your current issues for most videos.

    Have you installed any codec packs ?
    Have you updated video drivers recently ?

    You might also need to uninstall and reinstall some damaged codecs. Have a read of this page : http://paul.glagla.free.fr/filmerit_en.htm and try the utility you can download there.
