  1. I know, I shouldn't have upgraded to WMP 11. Still, earlier today I did and now WMP will not play anything, sound or video. And I get the same message every time:

WMP encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help.

And when I do, I get a page telling me that there's a problem with my sound card, or I have no sound card, or the sound card drivers are out of date. All of which is bogus.

Everything else works fine: VLC, Media Player Classic, Nero Showtime. Just not WMP.

I only use it when forced to by a weblink. But I'd like to have it working.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks!

  2. Downgrade to WMP 10 or WMP 9
if everything went fine then don't install WMP 11
