  1. i just watched a whole movie on SVCD on my dvd player (philips dvd825 w/ latest firmware) and i immediately noticed that the audi is out of sync. IT IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE encoding becuase powerdvd and windvd play the disc fine on my computer.

now let me explain what is really weird about the problem...

in the begginning, the out of sync is not ntoicable becuase it is not too bad. then it will get pretty bad, like a whole second out of sync after a few minutesinto the movie? why is this? anyway to correct this? please help. thanks.

  2. Hmmm,

Same problem here. I never really looked into it, but i had a same experience once. I had converted a small movie from DivX to SVCD and it played fine on my PC. When (trying) to play the disc in my Amoisonic 8506F DVD-player, the audio was out of sync. I just tried if it played, and didn't care much about the problems, coz it was just a test. I thought it might be the fact that the movie was burned on a Rewritable.

If anybody know how this can happen please let us know.

  3. Check the maximum video bitrate with bitrate viewer, the maximum bitrate can not be higher than 2600 kb/s, if the bitrate is above the SVCD is not standard and you will get out of sync audio.
I had it to and my problems were solved when I encoded it at a bitrate lower than 2600.
