What I find for that: "VGZ format is music data from SEGA hardware." It sounds like some sort of game audio file.
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGM That appears to be a Gzip compressed file of a VGM audio file. You may be able to play it back with WinAmp with the proper plugin. -
Did you use this plugin with WinAmp?: http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=133560
I'm just guessing with all this. I've never ran into that type of file.
EDIT: From the Wikipedia link:.vgz is used in order to launch a VGM player (eg. Winamp with the proper plugin) and not a data compression program such as WinZip or WinRAR. -
At a guess, a zip compressed file.
Try Winzip, 7-zip, etc.
If you look at the first few bytes of the file in a text editor, what do you see?
That's often a clue, sometimes even the program name. -
Here are the first lines in notepad:
XGV H lèkSE lSEv CAMÉRA-02 Board4 DEMO1ÿÿÿÿ«ß ] v @vÏ0 ° µ ]L(X ð¤Ç ¶éK(kѽ)Ú7ÒšÒHãm½£m¹cm´±¶Þ¨m·Oq¶ß‘¶Ý‡£m´¤m· aèÛoâ7¹yÞ^BÂ6ÛóѶß#m¹±[eÕf^wÊJÞNq
I just try your pluggin and it did not work -
I just found a player that will play this type of file
it is called evertechplayer

thanx for your help
