    Hi,

I'm trying to make an instructional video and I would like to add voice to it. I know that during videoing, sound is usually captured (or recorded via the camcorder). This includes "noise" (e.g. car horn, traffic, someone coughing, etc). I would like to have a voice explaining the instructions or commentary over the video with the background noise removed. And perhaps add some background music too.

I know that demuxing help to split the audio from the video to remove the "noisy" audio but how do I get the the voice part in?

Should I watch the (silent) video while at the same time recording the instruction and commentary separately and then later mux it back together? Or are there other ways of doing it?

    Thanks in advance !!

For projects like yours I like to use Ulead VideoStudio.

You would drag and drop your original video file onto the timeline then switch to expanded view to show all the available tracks. You then click your file and choose "Mute" to silence the original sound.

Plug in your mike then click "record" while playing the video back and start recording your narration segments. Drag and drop/move/edit/etc these narration segments the way you want them to play.

Drag and drop your background music onto the second audio track. Adjust volume/fade in-out points/etc/etc to your liking.

Add titles/transitions/credits/etc to your hearts content.

When finished click 'Export' to put it all together.

Easy to do, hard to explain, fulfilling to accomplish.

    Good luck.
