    Hi

I am fairly experienced in using ConvertXtoDVD to handle all my standard AVI downloads and burns to DVD-R.

However some of my larger files arrive in a VIDEO_TS folder, containing several VIDEO_TS and VTS files. This as I understand it is common with downloading a full DVD (around 4Gb) as opposed to the usual 700mb compressed file?

The film will of course play in wonderful quality on my computer, complete with working DVD menus and extras... but I do not know how to get my film onto DVD-R. I'm assuming the likes of ConvertXtoDVD cannot handle this as it is for AVI files. I've played around with PowerISO, Daemon Tools and DVDShrink but can't seem to have them recognise what it is I want to do.

Could someone advise me the quickest and most efficient way of shrinking my 4Gb VIDEO_TS folder down, and which program I can use to get my full-DVD films onto a DVD-R?

Thank you in advance for any help.

If you want to keep them in DVD format, Shrink should be able to reduce the size. But if they are smaller than 4.37GB, they will fit on a DVD-5 as is. You can use the freeware program ImgBurn and click 'Build' under the 'Mode' menu and burn the entire VIDEO_TS folder to a DVD.

For information on the DVD format and structure, look to the upper left on this page for 'WHAT IS' DVD.

Of course if you want to burn them to DVD data discs and in Xvid or Divx format for a Divx player, then AutoGK is a good choice.

    And welcome to our forums.

  4. What I like to do is open the VIDEO_TS folder using DVDFAb Lite. The Lite version allows you to burn one feature at a time. If the DVD is a series of TV episodes, you can only burn one at a time. However, if it is one movie, you are basically all set (as long as the movie is less than 4350 gigs or so. However, it has a wonderful DVD splitting feature and you can also uncheck all the languages you don't want. Anyhow, let's say the movie will fit on one DVD-5 disk, simply select DVD Image and save the image to hard disk. Then use DVD decrypter in ISO Write mode and burn the movie to disk. Works every time!

Assuming it has the full complement: IFO, BUP, VOB files, just burn it.

Using ImgBurn, use File mode, choose option/filesystem "ISO 9660 + UDF"
select the VIDEO_TS folder, click the WRITE button (triangle).

Thank you my friends, I successfully burned my full DVDs using the 'build' option in IsoBurn.

It makes perfect sense of course, now I understand the terminology of 'build'!

    Cheers again
