i was encoding a movie and my comp crashed and stopped at 48%.....how can I, if possible, begin econding from the point again using TMPGEnc?

It depends. When your computer crashed did you still get the first part that you were encoding? Basically, when you restarted the computer did you get the 48% encoded or did you lose it when the computer died? If you got that part just look at the time, load the full original, go to advanced tab, go to source range, set the first frame to where you left off, and the last frame at the end.

TMPGEnc cannot open the video part of the file, only the audio part can.
