How to get a new Epson R220 for nothing: Buy two at stapes.com for $195 delivered, (that includes sales tax). Sell the Epson carts on ebay for $53 each, net. Sell one printer with compatable carts for $90 net, (cart cost on ebay $13/set delivered). The R220 will be in demand for quite some time. It is discontinued by Epson. No major stores have it. Only Staples.com has a few left. Search Amazon.com, etc for an R220. Pricing is crazy.
I also sold my old printer Epson Photo Stylus 900 as is for $25 net, (that's $40 less $14 shipping), for parts on ebay. What a country.

    $195 Two R220's
    less:
    <$53> Carts sold on ebay
    <$53> Carts sold on ebay
    <$90> R220 sold on ebay
<$25> Old printer sold on ebay
    plus:
$26 Two sets of Compatible carts on ebay

    Total Cost $0.00

Too late. R220's are history. I ordered two Sat Feb 3 AM and they have shipped. I ordered another one Mon Feb 5 and just got notice from Staples that they are out of stock for good. Search the net for R220's. They are really pricey and no longer available at retail.

    Are R200s also in demand?

I have two spares - one even has the refillable cartridge set.

Just picked another R220 for $111 delivered. Not as good a deal as staples.com was, but still OK. I now have three new in box R220's. First thing I'm going to do is sell the genuine carts on e-bay. I'll bring in over $150 on the carts. That's half the cost of the three printers. What a country.
