  1. We have a Canon i560 printer(not sure how old it is). Anyways, having some printing problems. I can print things from Wordpad and notepad. But can't print any pictures. The computer opens up any pictures we have saved on the computer through Internet Explorer. If I try to print the pictures like this, it prints about 1/8th of the picture and then goes to the next blank page and prints another 8th of the picture and then to the next blank page and another 8th and so on. Until basically you have an 8th of a picture on 8 different sheets of paper that when combined would complete the picture. I have never seen a printer do anything like this. So I figured that maybe there was something wrong with Internet Explorer. I went to upgrade but this computer is Win98 and apparently IE 6 & 7 are for XP only. I opened a picture up in Paint and tried printing, got the same error.

It does the same thing when trying to print anything off of the internet, whether it be through IE or AOL browser. But text documents are printing from wordpad/notepad.

    Uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times. Unhooked printer..

We thought maybe the printer was just shot, but it's still printing the text documents flawlessly. All the color ink has been refilled and nozzles have been cleaned. Ran it through all the necessary maintenance. I checked all of the settings under the printer properties and everything looked normal. Even tried resetting the properties to defaults and am getting the same errors.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Here's a review of the printer (If I have the right one ) from 2003. http://reviews.cnet.com/Canon_i560/4505-3156_7-30472037.html

It apparently has both a USB and Parallel interfaces? Have you tried it on a different computer?

But it sounds like a driver problem. From 2003, there should be W98 drivers available as the OS was in more use then.

This appears to be the last driver made for it: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/CANON/Canon-i560.shtml

  4. Well, so I was trying to fix my printers by downloading drivers for them and am getting an error with the driver I downloaded.

It's a Lexmark Z515 inkjet printer. I went to lexmark.com and downloaded the only driver available. Whenever I try to install it(via setup.exe) I get this error:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

and I can choose 'close' or 'ignore'. Either way it will not proceed to install and just closes out.

I tried restarting the PC, no difference. I went to http://drivers.softpedia.com to see if they had a different driver for it but they do not.

    Any ideas?

Is this the version you are using? v1.0.4.0
    I saw it here: http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/231916/lexmark-z515-z517-inkjet-printer-driver-v1.0....-download.html

I'm not sure what the install problem is if that's the proper driver. It appears to be a .exe file that unzips to the installer file.
