  1. Hi all

I have got a "thaipod" that is causing me a few issues.

Essentially it plays AVI files, providing they are 25fps mpeg4 encoded with mp3 audio (as far as I can tell). The machine is superb in all aspects other than this, and I can't afford to replace it at the moment.

I have a file that gspot tells me is 23fps, encoded using xvid 1.1.0 beta 1 and using mpeg-1 layer3. It doesn't matter what I use to re-encode it, the audio goes out of sync.

I am pretty technical, but have had no cause to do much more than 1 click conversion solutions up until now, so any help people could give would be appreciated.

I am running the latest FFDShow codecs on the PC as they are the only ones I have found that will play whatever I through at it without issue.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Update: It plays video that gspot reported as DivX 4 (OpenDivX)

This is converted using Blaze Video Magic, but Blaze only uses 0x0050 MPEG-1 Layer 2 so I get no audio

Blaze is really quick, so it is a shame it won't use layer 3, or is it quicker to extract and convert the audio somehow? Sorry for all the questions, but if someone knows of a 1 click solution it would be superb

  3. Figured it out.

TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress and the DivX 6.5 codec sorted it for me.

Although if anyone could suggest a better codec that GSpot would report as MP4 I would be greatful, as the file size is around 50% bigger than I hoped

    Thanks all
