For a newbie like me in video manipulation I find VideoRedo Plus great for editing out ads and also will join video segments into a single program. It is well configured and easy to use. It also has an adjustment for audio / video sync but I have never had to adjust it.

Just a recommendation from a happy user. I did not know it was a joiner as well until I needed that feature and looked.
