We have recently purchased a Toshiba HDD & DVD Video Recorder (RD-XS52) and use it to record digital video from an underwater camera. During a project we usually collect numerous hours of footage and I need to edit the footage down before burning to DVD.

In the past, using a digtal camera (miniDV), we transfer the video via firewire to Pinnacle Studio V9, make edits, add text/titles than author DVD for distribution. I would like to do the same with the video on the Toshiba HDD.

In case you are not familar with this Toshiba Recorder, there is an option for DV in, but no option for DV out.

Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated, I have already spend hours making no progress.

    Thanks,

    Scott

You would probably have to remove the hdd from the dvd recorder to be able to connect it directly to the pc.

You can also output to dvdrs and reedit them on your computer.

I am not sure what you meant by DVDRS?

    Thanks,
