  1. I want to to make a DVD of music clips (video + audio).
I have some clips with audio 5.1 and some with 2 channels.
When listening to the clips on TV (or computer) I notice that the clips which are 2 channels is better (for me) than those that are audio 5.1 (my TV and comuter has only two speakers).
The clips with audio 5.1 seems to be lower than the clips with 2 channels.
1 - So I want to extract the audio (only those 5.1) and convert it o 2 channels.
2 - Also I think is a good idea to normalize all the audio track.

Could somebody give an idea of a good way to this (programs)?

    Thanks

You can use MpegStreamClip for PC to demux the ac3 tracks from the VOB files

I wrote a script to downmix audio from 5.1 to 2 channels. It will also boost the track levels. You need to install Avisynth http://www.free-codecs.com/download/AviSynth.htm
and make sure you have .NET 2.0 installed as well. http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Microsoft_NET_Framework/1016688677/1

If you don't want to do it via the scripting method, you can Load your Vobs in Dgindex and save as WAV files, boost the audio with Audacity, and re-encode to AC3 with Aften.

Finally, to avoid all of the above, install a decent 5.1 downmixer for playback, like ffdshow.
