I am trying to import some quicktime files that were converted off of a DVD into iMovie (old home videos from 8mm to DVD to quicktime via DVDxDV-thanks to this forum).
DVDxDV created 7 .mov clips. I have been able to just drag 6 of them into imovie, but one of them gives me this error message:
"The file could not be imported: There is not enough disk space left to import Macintosh HD/. . . Video.4.mov"
Clips before and after it worked fine. They were all about the same size (1.69GB). So why is just this one clip not working?

I just discovered something. The oddly behaving clip is different, but I don't know why.
All the other clips are 8 minutes long. This clip has 8 minutes of video but is actually 6 hours and 20 minutes long, the rest of it being all white space. It is still only 1.69MB, the same as the other clips.
why? and more importantly, what do I do about it?
Obviously, if I could get it into iMovie I could cut it, but that's my problem in the first place. -
> 8 minutes ... 1.69MB
You mean 1.69 GB, right?
And there is at least 2-3 GB free space on the volume where the iMovie project is, right?
Obviously that .dv clip is corrupted. Can you convert it again via DVDxDV?
Or open the offending clip in QT Player Pro, cut the extra white space off and re-export it as .dv via QT Player Pro, and then import to iMovie.
