hey guys..my first post so please go easy.

Firstly id like to say that iv searched everywhere and i have understood quite abit about the vcr to laptop connection and transfer process but no where specifically has it related to my problem. The thing is i have many vhs tapes to backup, a good laptop, and 2 oldddd vcrs. As you've probably guessed by now, i am trying to copy my vhs tapes to dvd by connecting the vcr to my laptop. I havnt a clue as to which cables to use or which hardware i may need concerning the hardware i already have.

    Here is my Laptop connections:

bigjimplsdo u think my idea would work. Thanks alot for your posts but the av grabber is only about 5 quid MAX and the items you have suggested are more expensive that that...do u think i could use something like this
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-Video-TV-VHS-DV-Capture-Device-DVD-Maker-Ulead_W0QQitemZ3304...item4ceee19d2f

and attach the rca female ends to the male end of this

and attach the scart to my VCR.

It logically seems like it would work? Please Comment

It should but I am not sure. But I see no reason why it wouldnt. Might want to get a new vcr. I just bought a new vcr for$40 us dollars and has the outputs you need. Good luck.

  9. Get an ATI 650 based USB2 capture device. You'll need the 3d comb filter. Then use the SCART to RCA adapter.
