Hi Ya'll,
Let me start off by saying, this is a very nice website here with lots of invaluable info.
I was directed to this website by harley2ride the forums Moderator over at www.cdfreaks.com. Not that it pertains to this question; but, feel free to view our conversation over there.
I just ordered a new PC to build for myself but was never able to find a TV tuner/Video Capture card with WinXP 64 drivers. Sooo... I didn't order one. My new system will run XP 64 until Vista comes out; and, then, I will most likely make that transition, simply b/c Microsoft has a way of twisting our arms and forcing us to make the change. With that said, I didn't want to waste money on a VCC that was not compatable with a 64bit OS.
During my search for a 64bit compatable VCC, I did find the Leadtek WinFast PVR3000 Deluxewhich I believe will work for me Once It Hits Online Retail Stores; however, I don't know that ETA.
If anyone here could point me towards a VCC(hardware encoder) that is XP64 compatable PCI/USB 2.0 that would be great.
Thanks in advance for your repy.

Just because others will ask:
1) Are you in the US? Looks like a "Yes"
2) Do you want to capture HDTV ?
3) Any reason why you're going XP64 ?
4) And you want the card to work as a hardware encoder ? That means a lot of things. Explain what you're envisioning that part to do ?
5) What is your budget ?
This card is really good and has 64 bit drivers

2. Not at the present time
3. Because I can
4. Some cards use software encoding(chews up system resources) others have built on hardware encoders.

What kind of CPU and RAM are you going to have in the new PC ?
"3. Because I can "
BTW, I have a MYHD MDP-120 card that captures HD off of a $20 Indoor Antenna I bought at Target. 8% CPU utilization as it is recording or playing back. That is with digital HD. The snowy analog junk actually is harder to capture these days. -

That's a friggin fast CPU. Nice going on that one. Great mobo as well. It is SO fast that recording, playback, and even conversion to DivX/h264 isn't going to be a strain on your system. Recent encoding tests over at Doom9 indicated the 6600 was over 6 times faster than the Pentium P4 2.6Ghz.
I'm going to bow out of this thread, as my area of knowledge isn't in the NTSC capture card world. Hope you do consider an HD card that can also capture regular NSTC resolution. 60% of US TV programs are now HD, and the trend will only continue. Still, even in HD, Saturday Night Live isn't very funny. -
I googled your MYHD MDP-120 made by Macro Image Technology.
The MDP-120 has been replaced by the MDP-130 which seems to be a very nice VCC, (with hardware encoding); but, I couldn't find any XP64 drivers for it

Bump, anyone

Right off the MDP-120 card
I'm still going to recommend the Fusion series of cards. They're really, really good. They also keep up to date with their drivers, which is a rarity in TV card circles.
"FusionHDTV RT Gold supports the industry’s first 64bit HDTV driver for Windows XP x64 edition and will also support the upcoming Windows Vista 64bit edition as well. The 64bit HDTV driver for Windows XP x64 Edition works in Intel EM64T series CPU as well as AMD x64 CPUs. This 64bit driver enables the FusionHDTV RT Gold tuner to work on 64bit Windows and will consequently allow users to seamlessly transit from a 32 bit to a 64 bit environment"

I hnow you want hardware encoding but if you can live with software encoding then you can try the Terratec Cinergy 400 TV. This one works for me with XP 64-bit. Actually I prefer software encoding because then I can capture to lossless avi and use software to compress to better quality comparing to hardware encoders.
