Hello there! Sorry if this post is in the wrong place.
I got a second DV from somebody this day week, and now I’m getting in some trouble. This is not the question about how to use the DV, I wanna know how to convert the output file to flash video cuz I want to publish it online and share with my friend in Hongkong. So I need some software, please give me some suggestion. It is not necessary whether the software is free, but not too expensive, LoL. And the software must be easy to use, period. I hate too much setting. Thanks a lot.

Geovid(Shareware, With high price and not so powerful, but quite easy to use, cuz there is even no settings)

  4. Must you use Flash?

Can you use a different video format for the web? e.g., WMV?

With Windows Movie Maker (part of XP), you can import the DV file and follow simply instructions to create a movie for putting on the web.

You are Right Johny. But WMV seems not fit for published on webs. FLV Seems much better that WMV.
and shootmeplz, I'm not very follow you. but I advise you that if you want to make a professional quality flv, then try super; If you want to convert it to flv with ordinary quality.

  6. I agree that WMV doesn't "publish well" - but I thought the idea is to make the video available to a friend.

If the video is for wider use, I agree that a Flash movie would be better and, I agree, that you have suggested good options to achieve the goal.

thanks for your reply, johnny and bryant
Well, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I have lots of friends in Hongkong, I used to study there and made friends with many people. There is a private website for us, I want them to know how I am getting on now, so i want to publish my video on the website.

    Hello shootmeplz,

You can use "Macromedia Flash 8 Video Encoder" in order to convert your files to FLV format for Web. I have been using it for a long and very happy with the out come!

The Macromedia Flash 8 Video Encoder comes with Flash 8 but it is a bit tricky to get it installed and running. Let me know how you are getting on with it, mate.
