I want to buy a PORTABLE DVD player which can read DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW.
Can someone suggest a good one to buy ? (saw review of LG LPA-735 but I don't know whether it's good or bad). Thanks

  2. I know that the Aeso 8.4" portable can read +R Dual layer and single layer, and I seem to recall -R, never tested it with -R DL. Has a TV tuner, FM radio, usb port that played music off of a 1Gb thumb drive, Game controllers and some games on CD. I seem to recall the manual says Divx 5 also, however I don't have a manual here. AV In/Out too. A novel to me feature is the screen has a button that can reverse the display and flip it top to bottom too. And of course FM out for the audio so you could play the audio through a car radio or FM radio.

This is the one I'm familiar with... Decent build quality, better DVD drive than some have. Screen is made by sharp. Note: the link I posted is for a refurb. I know Aeso also has a newer model with 9+ and 10" screens. Myself I would buy it New of course. However that seller is pretty good on warranty AFAIK. http://cgi.ebay.com/8-4-DVD-MP3-6in1-PORTABLE-PLAYER-JOYSTICK-TV-300-GAMES_W0QQitemZ18...ayphotohosting

I've also worked on Orbit 3 in 1 and 4 in 1 and they new drives they use don't seem to like +R Dls.... The other crawback on the oribt 4 in 1 is I didn't like the screen, over time it starts to develop what looks like a light leak around the edge.

I tested out a orbit or Aeso that had slot loading for the DVD and didn't like the way it scratched the disc on eject ,superficial to be sure but over time?

There is another model (I don't recall which brand or model) that has a DVD drive that works like a Laptop drive and in fact the drive from it works in a laptop, I tested that yesterday on a Sony. I would expect that unit to be durable under use.

I would tend to steer clear of bargain brands if you plan on heavy usage.

Also Note: I'm familiar with these as I work on them for someone and we sell them in our B&M store only. We don't do online Search in google if interested as in:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&q=aeso+8.4+ebay
